As adult RPGs go, Kamihime PROJECT R looks the part.

The character designs are drop-dead gorgeous, with each waifu meticulously crafted. But it's the animation that really delivers. These aren't just static images, but fully animated scenes that hit the money (and unzip the pants). 

Couple that with a stellar Japanese voice cast and a banging soundtrack, and you've got a game that's as much a treat for the eyes and ears as it is for your other organs.

It's a fairly standard turn-based affair, with an elemental system that adds a layer of strategy to team-building and combat. It's not the deepest system out there, but it's engaging enough to keep you playing between the XXX scenes. And if you just can't be bothered with all that pesky "gameplay" stuff, there's always the autoplay function, which lets you sit back, relax, and enjoy the smut.

Of course, being a free-to-play game, there are the usual microtransactions and gacha mechanics to contend with. While it's entirely possible to enjoy Kamihime PROJECT R without spending a dime, be prepared for a hefty grind if you want to acquire the rarest and most powerful characters. In reality, die-hard F2P fans need to spend hours each day just to keep up with daily tasks and events, which can quickly turn the game from xxx to zzz.

Also worth noting: the English version of the game, available on Nutaku, is a bit behind its Japanese counterpart on DMM.

Story

In the world of Kamihime PROJECT R, you take on the role of the Successor, a young man who discovers an ancient artifact known as the Device. With your childhood friend Alyssa by your side, you'll use the Device to traverse different dimensions, gathering allies to prevent the second coming of Ragnarok - a cataclysmic event that destroyed an advanced civilization thousands of years ago.

If that sounds suitably loopy... yep. 

Gameplay

Kamihime PROJECT R is basically a resource management game. 

There are multiple resources you'll need to balance in the game, but let's break it down to the ones that matter:

• Playtime: Engage in battles, events, and quests to advance the story and earn rewards.
• Time: Many in-game actions are gated by real-world time, so you'll need to plan your sessions accordingly.
• Money: While not necessary, spending real money can speed up your progress (understatement of the year) and unlock premium features.

Combat takes the form of vibrantly animated turn-based battles, where you'll command a team of up to five characters. Each character has unique abilities, elemental affinities, and special attacks. 

Key Features

• Co-op Raid Battles: Team up with players from around the world to take down massive bosses and earn rare rewards.
• Unions: Join or create a guild (known as a Union) to support each other, share resources, and tackle tough challenges together.
• Customization: Equip and enhance weapons, adjust party composition, and tailor your team to your preferred playstyle.
• Character Collection: Expand your roster of powerful allies through gacha pulls, event rewards, and story progression. Each character has their own unique personality, design, and voice acting (it's Japanese only).

Gacha and Monetization

The gacha game is strong.

Like many free-to-play games, Kamihime PROJECT R features a gacha system for obtaining new characters and weapons. While it's possible to earn gacha currency through gameplay, the rates for top-tier drops can be really low. Spending real money can [real: will] dramatically increase your chances of getting the best characters and gear, but is not strictly necessary to enjoy the game.

Kamihime PROJECT R also features a premium currency called Star Coins, which can be used to purchase exclusive items, speed up certain actions, and expand your inventory. Again, while helpful, spending money is not required to progress.

Adult Content

One of Kamihime PROJECT R's main draws is its explicit adult content. 

The "R" in Kamihime Project R stands for R-18, which hints at the reason you'll be opting for this version. Why else would you be visiting Dynamo?! 

This version of the game includes explicit sexual content and scenes that differentiate it from the non-adult version of the game, which is often simply called Kamihime Project (without the "R").

The smut ranges from suggestive poses to full-on sex acts. These scenes are woven into the main story and character-specific side quests.

It's worth noting that while the game is free-to-play, some adult scenes may be gated behind paywalls or require significant time investment to unlock.
