KoboldKare feels half-finished but we're impressed by its technical achievements in the early dev cycle.
This is a $15 FPS sandbox game that nails its movement mechanics and physics systems really well. Unfortunately, the multiplayer aspect suffers from server issues and basic reliability issues. Connections dropping, saves corrupting, etc. When it's good, it's really good. When it's bad, it's unplayable.
The farming mechanics are bare-bones, basically just an excuse to have kobolds wandering around fucking each other (which is no doubt a highlight!). The chemistry system looks pretty cool and hints at deeper gameplay but it never really materializes. At least not in this early version.
There aren't many great adult MMOs out there. Kobold has the potential to be one of them/
KoboldKare is one of the more unique sex simulators in the adult gaming space. For a start, it has full multiplayer support (8-16 players per server) and roaming Kobolds to seduce.
The game remains unfinished, but its off to a promising start.
KoboldKare is a juiced-up management sim where you oversee a farm populated by kobolds. You can interact with these creatures, skin them up how you want them, and yes... you can bang their brains out, too.
The game has a basic crafting system where you mix reagents to create substances that alter your kobolds' behavior or appearance. At the start, Kobolds have randomized stats and proportions, with the idea being that you can experiment to find your perfect mate.
As you progress, you'll unlock new items, expand your farm and rack up plenty of notches on your bed post. The world is open-ended and distinctly sandboxey.
KoboldKare looks really good so far.
The art is colorful, stylized 3D graphics that blend cartoonish charm with lewd appeal. Unsurprisingly, the kobolds are the star of the show, with 'exaggerated proportions' that lean into the lewd appeal.
Environments are bright and whimsical, like something out of a horny fantasy-utopia. The attention to detail is especially apparent in the game's sexual physics and penetration system, which aims for a realistic (if anatomically creative) depiction of sex acts.
The dev is clearly not striving for photorealism, but as fantasy rompers go, this one hits the spot.
Unusual for adult MMOs, the first thing you'll notice about KoboldKare is its integration of FPS-inspired movement mechanics.
Drawing from classic games like Quake and CS, there's support for bunnyhopping, trimping (using slopes to gain speed), and surfing.
These movement options add some extravagance to the farming gameplay.
Mastering KoboldKare's movement tech allows you to get around the game world quickly and find new ways to interact with your kobolds.
The game's multiplayer mode leans into these FPS mechanics hard, with fast and furious 8-16 player group sex. The servers can be pretty unreliable, but it's good fun while it lasts.
